Raising-and-Lowering Highmast Lighting

The raising-and-lowering highmast lighting is the most efficient way of lighting large area, mainly consisting of four parts, the mast, the luminaire mounting bracket, lighting fixtures and the raising-and-lowering system.

The Mast

The mast is 12-sided polygonal cross section constructed from mild steel plates, by cutting, folding and welding. Furthermore, the entire mast is hot dip galvanized internally and externally.

The Luminaire Mounting Bracket

The primary function is to mount lighting fixtures for lighting, and bespoke design is available to meet client’s requirement. All luminaire mounting brackets are constructed from high-quality steel, and both inner and outer surfaces are processed by hot-dip-galvanization.

Lighting Fixtures

The entire lighting fixtures are constructed from aluminum alloy, formed by die casting, with protection degree more than IP65. High pressure sodium lamp and metal halide lamp are designated lighting source, and their power range is from 250W to 2000W. Customization is still available.

The Raising-and-Lowering System

The Raising-and-Lowering System is the core part of the raising-and-lowering highmast lighting, mainly consisting of winch, motor, pulley assembly, luminaire support ring, steering arm assembly, latching mechanism, bumper, cables, electrical devices and other components. YT system

The Winch

The dedicated Winch with three patented technologies is well-featured and reliable.

Unique function and inventions

● Over-torque-protection device can avoid potential danger to damage mast-top assembly.

● Unique anti-slip device, except for ordinary protection by screw gear self-locking, with unique and patented invention called one-way damper in order to double-secure self-locking more safe and reliable.

● Steel cable locking device

● Sealed screw gear box is free of dust.

Mast-top Pulley Assembly

The Pulley assembly is consist of three steel cable pulley arms and one to three power cable pulley arms, which secures luminaire mounting bracket stable by leading three steel cables passing through the mast upwardly and downwardly.

● All inner and outer components are made from stainless steel and anti-corrosion materials.

● Cable position lockor is designed to prevent cables from taking off pulley.

● Power cable pulley is made from polymer materials so that its surface is wear-resistant.

Steering Assembly

● The Steering Arm Assembly on the luminaire support ring is used to overcome shake and keep luminaire mounting bracket centering around the mast.

● The steering arm assembly has three steering arms, to secure accurate steering.

● All steering rollers are made from polymer materials in order to avoid damaging coating of mast surface when raised and lowered.

The latching Mechanism

Latch barrel with inner mounting bracket lock is mounted to an underside of the mast-top pulley assembly.

● All steel cables are not exposed and more effectively protected.

● Latching mechanism latched on steering arms is able to release strain on steel cables when in the operating position. The process of latching on and off is stable and without vibration.

● The leveling device for luminaire support bracket is easy to operate and convenient to adjust level.

● Special designed red flag has obvious visual effects and reflects actual situation of latching operation.

Electrical devices

Highmast Lighting’s electrical devices include motor, lighting control cabinet, raising-and-lowering system control device, junction box and so on.

● The motor option is external or internal; the raising-and-lowering system can be operated by both electrical power and man power.

● Remote control enables operator to stand at a safe distance (5M) when lowering operation.

● Air swith is used for lighting control, overload and short-circuit protection is provided.

● The air industrial standard socket is used for connecting power cable(s) within the mast, and spare cable and socket is equiped for testing purpose when in the lowered position.

● The junction box is stainless and fitted on the luminaire support ring.

Bumper

The bumper is designed on the luminaire mounting bracket for avoiding direct damage between mast-top assembly and the raising luminaire mounting bracket.

Cables

Power cable is YC heavy robber sheath cable, and steel cable is hot-dip-galvanized or stainless steel cable. The drive disk and steel cable end are special designed to provide double-protection.
